RICHMOND, Va – Today, Virginians for Reproductive Freedom (VRF) officially announced that we are the ‘Yes on 1’ campaign. Already, supporters of reproductive freedom have engaged their communities in the campaign with dozens of community events, from the campaign’s May 16th rally to local house parties. Statewide, hundreds of Virginians have signed on to join the campaign, including through our Volunteer Ambassador Program and four upcoming volunteer trainings.
We are just getting started. On August 15th, VRF will start canvassing to reach voters about what it means to vote ‘Yes on 1.’ Early voting begins on September 18th, and Election Day is November 3rd.
“This fall, Virginians will vote on ballot question #1 to enshrine reproductive freedom in our state constitution,” said Han Jones, Campaign Manager with Virginians for Reproductive Freedom. “One vote has the power to protect our right to abortion, miscarriage management, birth control, fertility treatment, prenatal care, childbirth, and postpartum care for generations to come. Vote YES on 1 and make history.”

Virginians for Reproductive Freedom is a coalition of Virginia families, doctors, nurses, and advocacy organizations who believe that all Virginians should be able to make decisions regarding their own reproductive healthcare, including abortion care, without government interference, and no one should be faced with criminal punishment for making these decisions or providing healthcare.
