Virginians for Reproductive Freedom is the YES on 1 campaign for Virginia’s Reproductive Freedom Amendment. We are a coalition of Virginia families, doctors, nurses, and more than 25 partner organizations (including the ACLU of Virginia, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, REPRO Rising Virginia, Birth in Color, and more) working to pass Question 1, which adds the fundamental right to reproductive freedom, including birth control, abortion care, miscarriage management, and fertility care, to the Virginia Constitution.
Question 1 is the Reproductive Freedom Amendment, a proposed amendment to the Virginia Constitution on the November 3, 2026, statewide ballot. It protects every Virginian’s freedom to make personal decisions about prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, birth control, abortion, miscarriage management, and fertility care, and it protects patients, doctors, and nurses from being punished for those decisions. It allows the state to restrict abortion during the third trimester, except when the patient’s health is at risk, or the pregnancy cannot survive.
If a majority of voters choose YES, the amendment becomes Section 11-A of Article I of the Virginia Constitution on January 1, 2027.
Right now, the Virginia Constitution does not recognize the right to reproductive health care, which means that politicians have the ability to restrict or ban certain reproductive health care. Vote YES on 1 to protect the freedom to make reproductive health care decisions and ensure the government cannot interfere.

It protects patients, doctors, and nurses from being punished for those decisions, no matter who is in office.
leaves the Virginia Constitution unchanged. Reproductive rights in Virginia would remain ordinary laws that future governors and legislators could restrict or repeal with just the swipe of a pen.
