Virginia – More than 100 energized supporters showed up across the Commonwealth this weekend in Virginia Beach, Arlington, Charlottesville, and Richmond to build skills, make connections, and prepare for the most important phase of our campaign: talking to voters about the Reproductive Freedom Amendment.
Volunteers will put everything they learned to work through door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, text outreach, and more! If you’d like to cover a YES on 1 canvassing day in your area, please reach out to Mary Olivia Rentner in advance of the August 15 statewide kickoff.
“A big reason I’m getting involved by volunteering with Virginians for Reproductive Freedom is because I believe in just that,” said Victoria F. at the Virginia Beach volunteer training. “I’m a mother of a teenager and I’m surrounded by teenagers everyday and I look at these beautiful kids and I feel like they deserve a future where they have the right to make choices across the board, whether its reproductive health, family planning, birth control, or IVF. I want to show up for them.”
“I’m so excited to start knocking doors this summer for Yes on 1,” said Amini B. at the Arlington volunteer training. “Reproductive freedom is personal for me. It’s personal for my neighbors. That’s why we are showing up to keep the government out of these decisions.”
“I was retired from knocking doors and hadn’t planned to go out and canvass again this election cycle, but this training event changed my mind!” said Anne R. at the Charlottesville volunteer training. “I’m fired up and ready to talk to voters about reproductive freedom.”
“I was so excited to hear that Virginians for Reproductive Freedom was holding volunteer trainings,” said Emery P. at the Richmond volunteer training. “It was definitely worth our time and we felt that the information provided was really meaningful and important.”

Virginians for Reproductive Freedom is a coalition of Virginia families, doctors, nurses, and advocacy organizations who believe that all Virginians should be able to make decisions regarding their own reproductive healthcare, including abortion care, without government interference, and no one should be faced with criminal punishment for making these decisions or providing healthcare.
